Excellent product so far. The lid is made of stainless steel, as advertised, and the item is quality German craftsmanship. The dispenser is easy to fill - cover the bottom with your finger, fill, replace top. It holds over 1 cup of honey, which dispenses at just the right rate into, for example, tea; no drip, no mess. I decided on this model instead of the less expensive ones based on reviews, which reflected that the less expensive models had breakage issues (with plastic tops that are painted to appear stainless). I would purchase this again :)

I have had this style dispenser in the past and was extremely satisfied except that the "metal" top was actually plastic and broke after a few months of use. Imagine my delight in finding such a dispenser with a stainless steel lid. I am very pleased with it, but am giving a 4-star rating because the dispensing mechanism does not work as well as expected -- the honey stream dispensed is very small and it takes rather a long time to apply enough honey to a piece of toast. The handle is formed so that the tip of it hits the glass container, thereby not allowing the plunger to rise very far. Nevertheless, I intend to order at least two more of these dispensers in the near future as they are the best I have yet found.

I had seen the honey dispenser with the chrome colored plastic top for years and would not buy it because reviews of it always said how cheap it was and how easily it broke. When I found the dispenser with a metal top, I did not hesitate to buy it even though is was about twice as much as the plastic version. I like it,it works, is not messy and looks much more attractive than my old plastic "honey bear". I use honey in my coffee so I use it every day. In this case, you get what you pay for.
